ABOUT OUR NAME
ACTIVE!
What does it mean to be "active"? To be involved or "hands-on"!
Active learning involves the whole person - our five senses and emotional
and spiritual selves. At ACTIVE LEARNING ASSOCIATES we seek ways
to make Christian education experiential.
LEARNING!
We can be sure learning has taken place when the acquired information
is "transferred" or applied to other experiences and situations.
At ACTIVE LEARNING ASSOCIATES we seek to challenge Christians to transfer
their knowledge of "ought to's" to the everyday practice of living faith,
recognizing that the learning occurs best when we take into consideration
individual needs and personal styles.
ASSOCIATES!
Believing we are always more effective together than we are apart,
ACTIVE LEARNING ASSOCIATES, Ann & Ron Liechty and Phyllis & Ken
Wezeman, work together to encourage, prod, praise, and share chocolate in the
pursuit of creativity. Phyllis is a Christian educator and author of over 1800 books and articles.
Ken is the ALA office manager and technology consultant. Ann is a
retired high school English teacher, an author, and is involved in Christian
education. Ron, who recently retired as a UCC pastor, is involved in many
community activities and interim pastor positions.
