ABOUT OUR NAME
ACTIVE!
What does it mean to be "active"? To be involved or "hands-on"!
Active learning involves the whole person - our five senses and emotional
and spiritual selves. At ACTIVE LEARNING ASSOCIATES we seek ways
to make Christian education experiential.
LEARNING!
We can be sure learning has taken place when the acquired information
is "transferred" or applied to other experiences and situations.
At ACTIVE LEARNING ASSOCIATES we seek to challenge Christians to transfer
their knowledge of "ought to's" to the everyday practice of living faith,
recognizing that the learning occurs best when we take into consideration
individual needs and personal styles.
ASSOCIATES!
Believing we are always more effective together than we are apart,
ACTIVE LEARNING ASSOCIATES, Judy Chase, Ann & Ron Liechty, and Phyllis
& Ken Wezeman, work together to encourage, prod, praise, and share
pizza in the pursuit of creativity. Phyllis is Director of Christian
Nurture at a local congregation, and author of over 400 books and articles.
Ken is the ALA office manager and technology consultant and Assistant Director
for Programming at the Parish Resource Center of Michiana. Judy is
an art teacher and Christian educator who also serves as a resource consultant.
Ann is a high school English teacher and is involved in Christian education.
Ron, who recently retired as a UCC pastor, is involved in many community
activities. |
